Origin: Masha Coffee Washing Station

Established in 1989, Masha Coffee Washing Station is part of the larger Kayanza CWS group and represented by Greenco, a sustainable producer partner based in Ngozi since 2015. Greenco focusses running well monitored wet mills and washing stations, supporting the livelihoods of around 41 000 certified coffee producing families across their CWS.

‘Masha’ derives its name from the number of cows (amasha y’inka in Kirundi) found in the area. Masha is a washing station with enormous reach, processing cherry around 3500 from the 12 neighbouring regions.
The station has won 8 prizes at the Cup Of Excellence since 2012, aided in part by the region’s soil conditions, good altitudes and precise selection of ripe cherry by producers.
